Second Anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine

Dear friends

As you are very aware, the weekend of February 24th is the second anniversary of the invasion of UKraine by Russia.

Last year we were incredibly fortunate to host the Standing with Giants installation for the whole month while the UKrainian community held two remarkable stalls to raise funds for the hospitals supporting both soldiers and civilians.  There was a real feeling of energy and hope, with Ukrainian soldiers being trained on Salisbury Plain and the counter-offensive yet to begin.

This year, our Ukrainian community needs your support more than ever in any way that you feel you can give it.  I don’t think I need to explain why this is so urgent.

Please share the events we have planned for the weekend of February 24th with your family, friends and colleagues. Please join us by the war memorial at 10.45 on Saturday morning if you can for a minute’s silence and reflection; and then in the evening for a photographic exhibition, a short performance and a screening of Carol of the Bells (with English subtitles!) generously hosted by the Godolphin School.

With warmest wishes

Jane and the team
