Volunteer to help

Adopt a Community Initiative

As the year progresses, we will be looking at different ways of fund raising, and will be participating in events with our Ukrainian community. We are likely to be collecting donations of gardening tools and seeds, tools, hygiene products, medicines and other supplies to send out to Ukraine. If you would be willing to get involved in any aspect of this activity, please let us know.

Alternatively, we shall be asking for help via our regular newsletters so there will be an opportunity to volunteer at a later date too.

And if you have any fresh ideas to support this initiative, we would love to hear from you!

Homes for Ukraine Scheme

Would suggest that we remove this section for the time being and unless a fresh wave of hostilities brings in new refugees…

The Government’s “Homes for Ukraine” sponsorship scheme is still in operation. You must be able to offer a room in your home or provide self–contained accommodation or an annex. Ukrainians who are already here and living with a host increasingly need new hosts to provide somewhere for them to live. If you are able to provide accommodation for a minimum of six months and would like to help, there are a number of options:

  1. Please contact us, in case we become aware of a family which needs re-housing, telling us what you can offer. Please confirm you are willing for us to share these details with Wiltshire Council who are responsible for the formal arrangements for this.
  2. Alternatively, please contact Wilshire Council directly via h4u@wiltshire.gov.uk
  3. If you would like to sponsor a Ukrainian national who is not yet in the UK, you can sign up with Reset UK, who will match those seeking to come to the UK with hosts. Reset will provide training and support for hosts and guests as they are matched. https://www.homesforukraine.org.uk/
