Bringing Vehicles into the UK

There has been considerable confusion and a lack of clarity of information relating to bringing and keeping a vehicle in the UK from Ukraine. We now have the final answer, we hope!

The process of applying for an extension for keeping your vehicle in the UK under Temporary Admission (using the C110 form) allows relief from paying import duties on a vehicle that has been brought into the UK for up to 3 years.

We have been advised that the C110 Method Of Transport scheme can be used by Ukrainian refugees, please see link below. This is the process you will need to follow:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/import-and-export-temporary-admission-notice-of-arrival-of-a-non-eu-private-motor-vehicle-c110

You will then need to forward the completed form together with a copy of the Biometric Resident Permit to citex.temporaryadmissionsteam@hmrc.gov.uk

However, you will need to register a foreign plated vehicle with the Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA) after 6 months if you plan to remain in the UK. The guidance sets out how to do that. Please find the letter attached with this newsletter for further details.

Additional information relating to bringing in goods and vehicles can be seen below:
